Identify the Symbiosis

Lichens are a unique and fascinating combination of fungus and another organism that goes through photosynthesis, called photobionts, usually algae or cyan bacteria. These organisms work together to form what is known as a symbiotic relationship, which is where both parties benefit from working
together. In this case, the photobiotic produces sugars through photosynthesis, just like leaves on trees, which provides the fungus with a food source, and the fungus produces nutrients that benefit the photobiotic. Thanks to this relationship, lichen can be found in a wide variety of habitats, including on the trunks of trees or leaves in moist forests, on fallen logs, bare rocks, or on soil. Lichen also thrives in some of the most extreme conditions, including hot, dry deserts and the frigid cold Arctic tundra.

Identify the smbyosis

Mutual ism - is a comparison of both organism that share beneficial organisms like the fungus on the log the lichens on the log gives energy to the fungus and the fungus give them space

Lichens - there a type of algae that grows on fences logs and trees

Identify the symbiosis

the log and the lichens have a mutualism symbiosis. lichens are made up of alga and fungus the lichens protect the log from other species it grows on the north side of the tree does not need sunlight or energy but they go though photosynthesis lichens take in cordon dioxide and produce sugar rich molecules.

Identify the Symbiosis

Lichens grows on trees. They grow on maple trees and many more trees. There is like all the trees in the world that Lichens grow on. A simple slow-growing plant that typically forms a low crust like, leaflike, or branching growth on rocks, walls, and trees. It is also a skin disease in which small pimples or bumps occur close together. Thanks for reading by Derrick Bronzynski.

Identify The Symbiosis

A lichen is a mutualistic relationship between algae and fungi. The lichens use sunlight energy, carbon dioxide, and water to make sugars and oxygen for the use of the fungi and algae. A weird fact is that if you were to send a lichen  to Mars the lichen would thrive because of the high amount of carbon dioxide on mars.http://www.redcolony.com/art.php?id=0109020#Lichen

Identify The Symbiosis

Lichen is not made of moss. Lichens are a combination of fungi and algae. Lichens are a symbiosis between fungi and algae. Lichens are important for the terraformation. Lichens like all other plants. Lichens utilize the light energy in sunlight to turn carbon dioxide and water into sugars and oxygen. Lichens can survive very adverse conditions. The current mars can even support the hardiest of lichens. Oxygen is a colorless, orderless reactive gas. The oxygen chemical of atomic number 8 and the life-supporting component of the air. Oxygen forms about 20% of the earths atmosphere.

Lichen on the Log

Lichen is a organism the arises from green algae. It can survive in any climate and it can live anywhere like trees, soil, weedily debris, tree leaves desert sand, rusty metal, and animal bones.    A simple slow growing plant that typically forms a low crust like, leaflike, or branching growth on rocks, walls, and trees. Oxygen is a colorless odor reactive gas. It forms about 20% of the earths atmosphere.

Vocabulary in action chapter 24

Habitat is the home of an animal.
The ants home are in the colonies.

Biosphere is all the living organisms on earth.
All of the organisms live on the biosphere.

Community a group of people that live in the same place.
I live in the community of O'Neill Nebraska.

vocab 24 and action

Biosphere -  the regions of the surface , atmosphere and hyrdosphere of the earth or parts of other planets occupied by living organisms.

Life is biosphere

Habitat An enviroment in witch you live
 My room is my habitat

People and animals living in a community
O'Neill has a population of people

Vocabulary in action- chapter 24

Population- In this picture is population because the ducks are the same species and the are in one group.
Biosphere- In this picture the grass is biosphere because it help support life.
Ecosystem- In this picture the pond is ecosystem because it consist of nonliving and living species.

Tuesday, September 2, 2014

The biosphere is anything in the atmosphere and on the crust of earth that can support life. This picture is of my backyard and represents the biosphere because it shows living things, the atmosphere, and the earth's crust.

Biotic is the living organisms in an ecosystem. The picture is of my dirty pool and represents biotic because it has algae growing in it.
A community is a group of species of organisms in a certain area living together. The picture is of roly polys, and a couple ants living under a brick paver by my house.

Vocabulary in acton- Chapter 24

Habitat- a habitat is a place where and animal lives and where finds food and shelter. such as trees for birds to live in and the grass for insects.
Biosphere is every thing from the earths crust to the atmosphere for  example the picture of the dirt represents the crust and the sky shows the atmosphere the creek shows the water that covers the earth.

ecosystem- a biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment.
such as a bull and birds

biotic - biotic is any thing thats a living organism. ex. ants underneath a dead stump.

population - population is more than one of the same species in one area, ex. squirrels in a tree.

community - is where there are more than one specie in a area ex. coyotes prairie dogs, rabbits, raccoons, turkeys, wood chucks, and squirrels.
