Abiotic and Biotic Limiting Factors By Jace

A biotic limiting factor would be when a fox goes and kills a rabbit. This is a biotic limiting factor because the fox is biotic and it is decreasing the population of the rabbits.

An abiotic limiting factor would be if there was a big land slide that wiped out a big forest. This would be an abiotic limiting factor because the dirt is abiotic and it took animals habitats away.

Limiting factors and their effect on carrying capacity

1. A biotic limiting factor would 15 birds but only 10 trees. This is a biotic limiting factor because 5 birds are going to have to find another place to live and leave the other birds. Some may not find another tree and may starve and die because they do not have a place to live.
2. An abiotic limiting factor would be a hurricane because a hurricane can destroy habitats but it is not a living thing. A hurricane does not form by something living but by non living things such as weather and other climates

Limiting Factors and their Effect on Carrying Capacity

A limiting factor is something that can be abiotic or biotic ( living or nonliving) that can cause a population to go up and down. A biotic limiting factor could be a wolf. Since the population is high and the coyotes are hunting them the population will go down.

An abiotic limiting factor could be a fire or any other natural disaster.Floods have an effect because they could cover all of their habitat and food in water. Fire has an effect on the population of rabbits because it could burn there habitat and food, some rabbits could even drowned.

Limiting Factors and their Effect on Carrying Capacity

An example of a biotic limiting factor is a living components of an ecosystem. An example of biotic factors is seaweed. A biotic limiting factor could be a deer or a fish. An example of an abiotic factor is air, oxygen, and soil. A biotic factor would be 10 birds but only 5 trees. This is an example of a biotic factor because 5 birds are going to have to find another place to live. So the 5 birds that don't have a place to live might die. An example of an abiotic factor is tornado because a tornado can destroy habitats but it is not a living thing.

Limiting Factors and Their Effect on Carrying Capacity

1. Identify and explain a biotic limiting factor. Biotic limiting factors could be interactions with other organisms. Or it can be species prevented from occupying another area because species' presence. An example of what I mean is predator/parasitism which is an individual eats other individual.

2. Identify and explain an abiotic limiting factor. Abiotic limiting factors could be temperature, water climate, and soil. An example that can combine these things are is if the temperature gets cold and it changes climate and it puts frost on the soil and does no good for crops (such as corn and soybeans) and even freeze the water.

Limiting Factors

A biotic limiting factor could be a scarcity of prey. If there is a large amount of coyotes, but not very many rabbits, there would be a decrease in the coyote population.

An abiotic limiting factor could be a tornado. If there are a certain amount of birds that live in trees, and the tornado destroys those trees, it would be destroying the homes of the birds and thus limiting their living space.

Limiting Factors and their effect on Carrying Capacity

1. Abiotic limiting factors are like a tornado riping through a town. That would be limiting the population of the town. 2. A Biotic limiting factors are like a panther riping out a rabbits hole. that would be limiting the places for rabbits to live.
