Continental Drift/Seafloor Spreading

Continental drift-Explain it.
Continental drift the the movement of the continents over a long period of time.

Identify 4 evidences the helped prove the continents where moving and explain each one.

1.
Fossils - Mesosaurus and other dinosaur fossils have been found on coasts opposite each other.
2. Coal - Coal from plants has been found in Antarctica. 3. Geologic Formations - the same type of rocks have been found on the opposite coasts of continents
4. Glacial Striations - scratches from glaciers have been found on rocks in warm places.

This is all well written and organized well.

Seafloor Spreading-Explain it.

Seafloor Spreading is the movement of the ocean floor. Proposed by Hess

Identify 2 evidences that helped prove the sea floor was growing and explain each one.

1.
Magnetic Reversals - the metal particles in the lava pointed toward the polarity at that time.

2.
Radiometric Dating - researchers took rock samples and aged them.
